Land Rover DC10
The Land Rover DC100 Sport Concept is an off-road vehicle designed to anticipate a new aesthetic language for the historic Defender, in view of the planned restyling for 2020. The “roofless” design, inspired by the old Defenders with removable canvas roofs, is aimed at outdoor enthusiasts and internally defined as a “leisure-oriented” model, complementing the utility (Defender) and luxury (Range Rover / Evoque) lines.
The goal is to develop a textured grip surface made with Ombrae technology, extending from the cabin mats to the flat cargo area at the rear of the vehicle. The “tigerstripe” pattern, also featured on the seat leather, evokes the exploration of wild terrains and a wide range of outdoor activities, from the beach to the mountains.
Our studio provided design consultancy, technical input, and produced the rubber coverings directly in the Vancouver lab. The DC100 Sport was first unveiled to the public at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2011.
